Can you share with us a specific project or accomplishment that you are particularly proud of and why?

One of my proudest accomplishments is the development and launch of CyberPass, the first worldwide product security certification platform. CyberPass revolutionizes how we assess and manage the cybersecurity compliance of connected devices, offering accredited evaluations and practical improvement plans aligned with international and EU standards. This platform not only bridges the gap between suppliers and manufacturers but also elevates the overall cybersecurity maturity in the industry, making a significant impact on IoT security.

How do you spend time outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy staying updated with the latest advancements in technology and cybersecurity through reading and attending industry conferences. I also value spending quality time with my family and engaging in outdoor activities like hiking, which help me maintain a healthy work-life balance.

What do you think is the biggest factor affecting the TIC industry at the moment?

The biggest factor affecting the TIC industry right now is the rapid proliferation of IoT devices and the corresponding rise in cybersecurity threats. As devices become more interconnected, the need for standardized, reliable, and comprehensive security certification becomes critical. Ensuring that these devices are secure from design to deployment is essential to protect user data and maintain trust in technology.

In three words only, what is the secret to your success?

INNOVATION, PERSISTENCE, TRUST.

Can you tell us about your background and how you got started in the TIC sector?

I have over 15 years of experience in the cybersecurity certification industry, focusing on smart technologies and cloud services. My journey began with a Master’s degree in Computer Sciences and Critical Systems Engineering from Bordeaux 1 University, followed by an Executive MBA from EDHEC Business School. I initially worked with Trusted Labs, Gemalto, and Oracle, where I developed a deep understanding of cybersecurity, particularly in the realm of smart cards and embedded systems. My passion for technology, especially the Internet of Things (IoT), led me to establish Red Alert Labs in 2017, aiming to bring trust and security to connected devices through innovative certification and evaluation services.

I strive to lead by example, demonstrating dedication and passion for our mission to secure the IoT landscape.

How do you prioritize and manage your workload to ensure success?

Prioritizing and managing my workload involves a structured approach where I focus on high-impact tasks that align with our strategic goals. I employ effective time management techniques, such as the Eisenhower Matrix, to categorize tasks based on urgency and importance. Delegation is also crucial; by empowering my team and trusting them with responsibilities, we ensure that all aspects of our projects are handled efficiently. Regular reviews and adjustments to our plans help us stay agile and responsive to new challenges.

As devices become more interconnected, the need for standardized, reliable, and comprehensive security certification becomes critical.

Can you speak of the biggest challenges you have faced in your career and how you overcame them?

One of the biggest challenges I faced was establishing a new standard for IoT security in an industry that was still in its infancy in terms of cybersecurity awareness. Overcoming this challenge required persistent advocacy for “Security by Design” principles and extensive collaboration with international standards organizations like ENISA, ECSO, FIDO Alliance, IoXt Alliance, Eurosmart, and the IoT Security Foundation. By continuously demonstrating the importance and benefits of robust cybersecurity measures through research, publications, and practical implementations, we were able to gain industry acceptance and trust.
